Awesome

So I realize I'm no spring chicken anymore. I used to always look young for my age, but after awhile, time takes his toll, plus I work nightshift, have 4 children (5 if you count Husband, which I do) and have a 3 month old, so, yeah, I look a bit older than I used to. Last night I was in charge and had a labor patient (go figure). My patient, 9 years younger than me, was in for preterm labor a few weeks ago and she was my first patient after my maternity leave was up and we bonded. So I was glad to be able to see her through her labor and delivery. Anyway, she was asking about my kids, where I live, etc. It just so happens that the H.S. girls volleyball team in the town I live in won State Championship this year and this came up when I told her where I live. She then asks me "Are any of your kids in high school?" *Sigh* I'll be going out to buy some awesome face cream later. Guess that happens to the best of us!

Well, if you have your first baby at 15, you could have a kid in high school when you're 30. In fact, I know of a woman in my community who was a grandmother at 30, because she was 15 when she had her first child, and that child was 15 when *she* had her first baby. She went to school with my BIL, and became a grandmother about the same time that he became a first-time father.

Maybe you don't look "so old," but rather that this woman knows so many women who had children "so young." :-)

I have seen a few very young grandmothers. I had a 28 yo new grandmother not too long ago. She had her first baby at 14 and her daughter was now having her first baby at 14.

Ah, man! I couldn't imagine being 28 and a grandmother.

Don't worry. I'm sure that you're still one hot momma! :)

Hey! The high school in my town won the state championship this year, too! And I'm old (37), but have only one kid in school -- he's 5 and in kindergarten. My daughter is three and the twins (girls) are due in May. But my best friend from high school has a kid who is a freshman in college. I'm not sure which one of us is older at this point...
