This past weekend at work was absolutely nuts. Usually, holiday weekends are relatively slow, but not this time. We had no labor or post partum rooms left and people kept coming in. Part of it I think was a storm that rolled through, so everyone's water broke. It would have been manageable but we kept having emergencies - cord prolapse, 10 minuted decels, bleeding and to top off that list we also had a maternal code back in the OR. That was a first for me. Never had to do chest compressions on a pregnant mom. Both mom and baby were fine and the whole 'code' lasted only about 90 seconds, but it seemed like an eternity at the time.
On the pregnancy front, things are improving with the nausea. I'm not constantly nauseated and I havent yakked in 2 days! But, because I worry about everything, part of me is worried that the little bean is no longer developing. Oh, how I long for the way it was when I was pregnant with my first - I didn't worry about anything, even when I had spotting at 16 and 28 weeks. Well, I guess I worried, but I never thought about miscarriage.
Today I decided to paint our little half bathroom bright sky blue. It's about as small as you can get with bathroom and the previous owners had hideous ivy wall paper. I know you're supposed to remove the wallpaper before you paint, but I decided not to. I got the first coat up tonight and I think it'll look good with 2 more coats on it. We'll see.
